Building the Muslim Welfare House Sheffield website

I built mwhs.org.uk: prayer times, khutbah archives, events, admin tools, and TV display mode for MWHS.

I built the official website for Muslim Welfare House Sheffield (MWHS). Live site: mwhs.org.uk.

MWHS needed one place for prayer times, schools, events, khutbah archives, and welfare info. I shipped a Next.js site with an admin dashboard and a TV display mode for mosque screens.

Features

  • Real-time prayer times with UK DST handling
  • Khutbah archives (markdown content)
  • Events listing for upcoming and past activities
  • Islamic school and welfare service pages
  • Admin tools for events, khutbahs, services, and contact submissions
  • TV display mode for large mosque screens
  • Image uploads (Cloudinary) and email (Resend)

Tech stack

Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS 4, Firebase, Cloudinary, Resend, and Framer Motion. I did this as a freelance developer.

If you landed here after searching for Muslim Welfare House Sheffield, MWHS Sheffield website, or mwhs.org.uk: I built that site. More detail on the project page.

Traffic

The site is live for the Sheffield Muslim community. During Ramadan, peak days have gone past 800 daily visitors on production (well above a normal weekday).
